Toys and Materials for Play and Learning is a comprehensive manual that has been primarily written with the aim of guiding and assisting pre-school teachers on the application of locally available material to facilitate play and learning among children at the pre-school level. It specifically deals with the collection, fabrication and usage of various materials to make toys and learning aids.

• The manual has been compiled at the National Centre for Early Childhood Education (NACECE) using experiences from all environments and therefore offers a rich source of information from a variety of ethnic, cultural, religious, social and economic backgrounds. It also incorporates a holistic approach to the child's growth process and therefore covers the following activities:
