‘Professor Doctor' Kadidi Ko Mudima, 'PHD' is a teacher in a private school, who went to America for his ‘further studies'. He returned a bitter man - bitter about his inability to achieve his dreams. In the eyes of Kadidi, everything American is good; the American way is the only way. He sees himself as the only enlightened man among primitive people. As such, he is constantly
overcome by years that the junk surrounding him will soon engulf him... Nekesa, Kadidi's wife, has accepted him, and his illusions. She is, however, very much in the dark regarding the reality of both his mental and financial situation. Odiemo, Kadidi's brother, is able to see through the facade. It is he who confronts Kadidi with the truth and forces him to face the reality.
