Con Artist is a story set in the Old Town, at the Kenyan Coast. Saumu is a fourteen-year-old girl who encounters the con artist while working in her mother's shop. It was very tempting for Saumu and her friend, who are in class eight and, therefore, Kenya Certificate of Primary Education candidates, to get leakages for the upcoming exams. The two girls fight with their conscience on whether to report or to benefit from the vice.

Ultimately, they help the police track him down and learn a few lessons about honesty and hard work.
