The incredible story of George Auko begins at the foot of the Otho tree when his mother Nyongalo goes into labour in the 50s. It progresses to Nairobi City in the 80s where he meets the love of his life Pam, and is not honest about two other wives back in the village because he does not want to lose her. Deborah Auko joins the plot as daughter to Pam.

This incredible journey weaves through stadium matches, Rhumba music, political fanatism, the HIV scourge of the 90s,polygamy, the Civil War in Uganda, and the mighty Luo nation of Kenya.
