Lament of the Silent & Other Poems
by Jared Angira
Lament of the silent and Other Poems is Angiras latest and arguably his most inspiring collection of poetry. It unveils human emotions and illusions in a style that can only be described as ‘Angiran’. In the poem, ‘From the Conveyor Belt’,
he says:
Love never used to lie
Till they floated it
At the stock exchange
Where it assembled
Arsenals of lies
This is Angira addressing salient issues in society, and capturing them in a manner so vivid that the impression created in one's mind is indelible.
Jared Angira's literary career goes way back to the 1960s when he started publishing poetry in magazines. Since then, his poetry has been published in six different volumes.
