Paulo wanted to play football with his friends so much but he did not have a ball. Using his innovation he made a nice ball from trash - wastepapers, manila and sisal strings. 

His innovative idea is immediately copied by his.friends who before then could not play football because they did not have a ball. Making trash balls from waste materials helped the children keep their environment clean. This drew the attention of Paulo's parents and headmistress.
